Liebster Blog Award

The lovely Louise over at Lou's card creations has awarded me with this blog award

The idea of the Liebster Blog Award is to spread the love from one small blog (under 200 followers) to other small blogs. This helps to spread knowledge and readership.

To accept the award, you must:
1) Link back to the person who gave it and thank them for thinking of you.
2) Post the award to your blog.
3) Give the award to 5 bloggers (with less than 200 followers) that you appreciate and value.
4) Leave a comment on the blogs of the five people you have chosen to let them know.
"Liebster" in German means "dearest", so to carry on the
Liebster tradition, I am going to pass the award on to 5 people who's blogs have been an inspiration to me and my crafting.

I have decided to pass on this award to the following people (not in any particular order!)
Ladies I love looking through your cards and creations so wanted to pass this onto you guys.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday

New xcut dies and card

Morning everyone, Just thought id quickly show you a card I made for order earlier this week. I got 4 sets of the xcut nested dies off my sis for Xmas and I havent gotten around to using this petal shape one before and I really like it. Let me know what you think.

I have used pattern papers from the fizzy moon celebration collection 6x6 pack and then just a plain card behind to make the nested shapes. The decoupage is from the me to you cd rom as is the happy birthday sentiment. I have used some letter stickers from my stash for 'wife' and then put some ribbon behind it to make it like a 'banner/ribbon'. I have also added some of me handmade paper roses topped with crafters companion glitter spray.

Here is a close up of the paper roses. I love making these. I make them in white and then use my pro markers and speccies to colour them the exact colours to match my projects.

Thanks for looking.

A5 Tea light candle box card for a man

Happy Sunday folks, its nice and sunny here in Liverpool but still rather chilly im a fraid.
Just thought I would share with you one of my A5 candle box cards that I have made over the weekend for an order, its for a man so slightly harder to do than for a lady but here is what ive come up with.

Sorry for the poor pictures I took the pics last night as it was being picke dup this morning.
I have used part of the Me to you die cuts kit Ive had for a while now as my image for the front and I just matted it onto some card and then cut round it. I have used some letter stickers from my stash thats Ive had for ages now from Papermania. The sentiment is also from the Me to you kit.

I have tried to use just plain coloured card rather than pattern papers with this being for a man.
I have used ribbon from my stash for this and I have used my fav birthday stamp for the sentiment inside.

Any comments are appreciated.

New baby boy card

Evening all, just thought  I would share with you this New baby Boy card I made for an order earlier today.
I have used Crafters Companion Centura pearl card for the card base and the envelopbox to match. A Pink Gems Designs digi stamp 'Baby boy in pram' and the Pink Gem 'Oh Boy' backing papers.

I used the pink gem backing paper on 1 1/2 of the card and just some light blue card from stash on the other 1/2 and covered the join with some fab ribbon that I got on my local market last week for just 20p and there is 5 metres on the roll - talk about a bargain!
I matted the image onto nested shapes cut using Xcut dielicious dies 'ornate frame' the 2 largest sizes, 1 in pale blue card stock and 1 in silver mirri board from C&C.
The little embelishments are from a small craft shop I go to not sure who makes them but they are a daft price of 20p a sheet and you get approx 8 per sheet its fab.

I used another of the 'Oh Boy' papers as an insert for the middle and a verse from my 'words for every occasion' book.

The round 'sentiment' stamp is another digi from Pink Gem desgins and I just love it. I took it into My Craft Studio software and had a play with the colouration and manage to get it to turn blue (it is white to start with).

These fab little hand buttons where also a mega bargain and are from £1land and you get 4 different colours in each pack and there are approx 8 of each colour.

I hope you like it and some feedback would be greatly appreciated.

1st Birthday card for a boy

Evening everyone, Dont post for weeks and now I have 2 in one day lol.
I have been asked for a 1st Birthday card for a boy so wanted to make something a bit special. I decided that I wanted to make a ribbon rosette.
I used my Xcut nested circles and cut the 2 largest circles out in blue and yellow card stock I then used my Cricut cartridge 'Mathea Stewarts birthday cake art' to cut a 4 1/2 inch scalloped circle out for the other 2 to nest into. I used Pink Gems 'Oh Boy' baby decoupage sheet and cut out the lil boy to sit inside my circles.
To create the ribbon rosette I cut up peices of ribbon approx 7cm in length and started attaching them to the back of the scalloped circle. I then cut to longer peices to make the ribbons at the bottom. I stuck this altogether to get the desgin featured. I am really pleased with it.
I also used backing papers from Pink Gems Desgins. I used the same cricut cart to cut out the letters and the number 1.
I used Crafters Companion centura pearl A3 card for my card base and the CC enveloplus board to create a matching envelop using the 16x16 specialist card.
Here is a close up of my ribbon rosette.

I hope you like it.

Commission card

Morning everyone, I was asked the other day to make a card for a boy who would be 9. No other info given so I was a lil bit stumped to start with as it couldnt be to cutesy as 9 is a bit to old for small animals and the likes so heres what I came up with instead.
I used my Silluette Studio for the backing paper by creating a large rectangle and filling it with the monster pattern. I then printed this out and was not that keen as there was no black outline around the monsters so I then sat for about 1 hr going around the images with a black fine liner to9 make them stand out a little better.
I also used my Silluette to cut out the monster which I then matted and layered and added some googley eyes for that fun feature.
The number '9' was cut out using Alphalicious cricut cartridge and the happy birthday stamp is just from my stash I have had for years.

This is a close up of my monster, i think he is just so cute.
I also used glossy accents on some of the monsters mouths and eyes on the backing paper for added effect.

I was really pleased withhow this turned out. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Marie xx
